Copyright & content reporting
If you believe content shared through Pockets infringes your copyright, or is otherwise illegal or objectionable, here’s how to tell us so we can act.
How to report infringement
Send a notice to support@thepockets.app. You can also start from the Report link on the shared Pocket or profile and choose “Intellectual property / copyright.” Reporting by email with the details below helps us review and respond quickly.
What to include
To let us act on a copyright claim, include:
- A description of the copyrighted work you say was infringed (or a representative list, if there are several).
- Where the infringing content is on Pockets, specific enough to find it. A Pocket or profile link is ideal.
- Your contact information, so we can follow up or notify the other party if needed.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you’re the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Please only report content you have the right to report. Knowingly false claims of infringement can carry legal consequences.
What happens next
We review notices we receive and may remove or restrict access to the content, turn off sharing, or take other action described in the Terms of Use. Where appropriate, we notify the person who shared the content and pass along your notice so they can respond.
Filing a counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice to support@thepockets.app. Include:
- Identification of the content that was removed and where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your contact information and your physical or electronic signature.
We’ll consider a counter-notice and, unless the law requires otherwise, may restore the content or leave it removed at our discretion.
Repeat infringers
We may suspend or terminate the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others’ rights, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion.
Other objectionable content
Not every report is about copyright. To report harassment, impersonation, or other content that breaks our Community Guidelines, use the Report link on the Pocket or profile, or contact support. Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is reported to the authorities.
